Intro

Who Should Order

Attorneys, government officials, landowners, farmers, ancillary businesses, business professionals, financiers, and existing and hopeful cannabis operators anticipating the regulation, research and development of the commercial cannabis industry in California.

Why You Should Order

On November 8, 2016, California voted to legalize the use of recreational marijuana for adults, age twenty one and up, through the passage of the Adult Use of Marijuana Act (AUMA) - Proposition 64 ("Prop. 64"). The state already passed the Medical Cannabis Regulation and Safety Act (MCRSA) in 2015 and now, as in the Washington and Colorado models, the key to the success of state legal cannabis programs is robust regulation.

This seminar will examine the challenging business and regulatory issues arising from the creation of the newly regulated commercial cannabis industry in California. Experts will discuss the wide range of issues regarding current and changing recreational and medical cannabis regulations and laws; current state and federal law conflicts over cannabis; cannabis business corporate structures; landlord/tenant law, commercial leases and real property issues; analysis of the MCRSA and Prop. 64; investment, fundraising, and securities issues; trademark, branding, licensing, and limitations on advertising; and the ethical considerations for attorneys serving cannabis business clients.

We hope you will join us.

~ Program Co-Chairs: Hilary Bricken*, Esq. of Harris Bricken LLP, and Nicole Howell Neubert, Esq. of Clark Neubert LLP
